They probably never told you...
After abortion many suffer a tremendous sense of loss. Part of this is the chemical let down, similar to postpartum only worse because abortion is the forced shut down of the pregnancy. Another reason for a need for a time of grieving is that abortion has caused the physical loss of child; the loss of a child is very hard psychologically on parents.
Abortion is rarely a stand alone issue. So many women turned to abortion as their "only way out." Yet rather than finding a resolution, the complication is often compounded. Because abortion does not correct most of the problems women face, it only complicates them, HCL staff are open to talk with you about how to face those situations that have not yet been resolved.
Women and men who are post-abortive do not have to suffer alone. Christ is calling each of us to Him and there is help in the community for you to work through the grieving process.
IF you have not yet had an abortion, there are other options available for you. You do not HAVE to suffer through an abortion. If you are still pregnant, please check out: "What are my options?"
