Welcome Anna Knox!
Hello Everyone!! My name is Anna Knox, and I will be the new Development Assistant at Houston Coalition for Life. It is an honor to join the mission of ending abortion peacefully and prayfully in Houston.
I am an Alum of the University of Houston (GO COOGS!) where I studied Business Administration, with concentrations in management and entrepreneurship. During my time at UH I was actively involved in our scho'ols pro-life organization, Coogs for Life. I served in leadership positions as both treasurer and vice president.
My pro-life journey did not begin in college though. I have been pro-life for my whole life. When I was a young girl my mom dragged me to prayer vigils outside abortion clinics, and I would play with the other kids at local pregnancy centers. Growing up I just knew to "pray for the unborn, their mothers and fathers, and the abortion workers."
It was in high school when I felt ignited with the Holy Spirit. I educated myself and learned the truth about abortions. I then "came out" as pro-life. I faced lots of controversy, but that didn't stop me from spreading the pro-life message, even if it was just me.
Covid happened. Then a few years later I entered the University of Houston. There, especially in Coogs for Life, I met my best friends. Being a pro-life activist in a school eye distance from the biggest Planned Parenthood in the Western Hemisphere can be pretty intimidating. But with the best team we made a huge difference. We hosted three rallies, offered a pregnant and parenting scholarships, attended state rallies, prayer vigils, listened to pro-life speakers, set up tables, and so much more! Changing hearts and minds on campus was extraordinarily fulfilling.
It has always been a passion of mine to work in the pro-life movement. The movement itself requires us to put Christ before ourselves and do his will. When he tells us, "Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me." Matthew 25:40. The least of these are the unborn so it is up to us both peacefully and prayfully to continue to speak for those who have no voice until abortion is unnecessary and unthinkable.
