Just a Thank You...

This year, Houston Coalition for Life is celebrating its 20th Anniversary. If you follow us on social media, you know that we have been sharing some of the major milestones that — through the grace of God — we have been able to accomplish. Through our #MilestoneMonday campaign, we have highlighted many of our achievements over the last 20 years. In January, we began with pictures of our dedicated Stand & Pray volunteers who spent countless hours outside of Planned Parenthood when it was on Fannin Street. Each month since, we have celebrated the thousands of lives saved with the launch of each of our Blue Blossom Pregnancy Centers, including Big Blue, Baby Blue, our Maternal Assistance Office, and our newest bus, The Little One. Every one of these incredible milestones has allowed us to save 13,423 innocent, unborn babies and their mothers from the devastation and grief of abortion.

None of the progress we have made over the years would have been possible without two things: 1. The grace of God; and 2. Your generosity. Houston Coalition for Life operates solely through private funds donated by those who share in our mission of ending abortion peacefully and prayerfully. Therefore, we dedicated this month's #MilestoneMonday to our donors, because without you, none of what we have been able to accomplish would have been possible.

Jesus tells us in Matthew 5: 13- 14, "You are the salt of the earth. But if salt loses its taste, with what can it be seasoned? It is no longer good for anything but to be thrown out and trampled underfoot. You are the light of the world. A city set on a mountain cannot be hidden."

Over the last year and a half, this Bible verse has become so special to me. When I began my career in fundraising more than 20 years ago, I would not have imagined half of the experiences God has given me. I have been grateful for every opportunity and every experience. But never have I been so blessed than to work for Houston Coalition for Life. My passion for being pro-life began years ago, but working in the secular world, my faith and beliefs were kept separate from my career. I cannot help but think that the salt God was calling me to be, was losing its taste. However, God is so good and so gracious. He continues to show me how I am called to live wholly (and holy) as He intended with faith front and center in my life. He shows me how every day through my brave and loving colleagues, and through YOU — the generous pro-life community. God answered our prayers on June 24, 2022, by overturning Roe v. Wade, and I truly believe we haven't seen anything yet. I believe this because YOU are still praying outside of Planned Parenthood, because YOU continue to give, and because YOU are committed to our work. As this year comes to a close and we wind down our #MilestoneMonday campaign, we look to our future. We will continue to navigate this post Roe era and launch another mobile crisis pregnancy center in 2023, and we stand ready to encourage and empower women in crisis pregnancies to choose life for their precious, unborn babies. We will continue to share the pro-life message — which is also pro-love — and we will continue to care for both mom and baby no matter what.
