Abortion and Men
This is something that is typically not talked about – Ever.
Back in June, a man by the name of Tommy Kearns began to share his story across social platforms.
His daughter's name is Clementine, and she was 5 months along in the womb when she was aborted in New Jersey at Cherry Hill Women's Center. She was perfectly healthy. Tommy begged Clementine's mother to not go through with the abortion. For five months they went back and forth. She was confused, uncertain, and had doubts. He said the abortion left her with trauma and regret.
Tommy found out about the abortion after the appointment after he had begged her not to go through with it. She told him she canceled it. He said, "She was ripped apart. My daughter doesn't get a funeral. My daughter doesn't get respect." Clementine was sent for medical testing – a healthy baby, why? His girlfriend didn't pay for the abortion; the clinic did. He asked, "How much did the clinic get paid for Clementine's body?" They sold Clementine's body to be used for medical testing.
Clementine's abortion happened March 13, 2024. His daughter was conceived on October 25. She was supposed to be born on July 20.
Tommy said, "My daughter is a person, my daughter is an angel, and I pray for her every single day. I talk to her; I still feel like she's there. I feel like on July 20 my daughter is going to be there." Clementine will not get a funeral. He only has a sonogram picture of her. When he confronts people, he tells them she had a heartbeat – wasn't she a person? They tell him she is a fetus, but "fetus" is Latin for "offspring."
He emphasizes he does not want his daughter to be forgotten. Tommy said, "Well maybe for some people she was just a fetus but for me she was a lot more than that. I am crying over someone I have never met before." He says while tearing up. His daughter was going to be beautiful, but now he doesn't know where she is. "I am just a man," he says, "and men are not supposed to have feelings." Tommy wants and asks everyone to remember Clementine because she is loved, and she is not forgotten.
Today Tommy is still trying to find his daughter Clementine to finally lay her to rest. Tommy still struggles with severe depression, grief, and anxiety from loss due to his daughter being aborted. Tommy is one of thousands of men who are victims of abortions and lost fatherhood. This is the reason many men suffer from depression and anxiety due to not being able to talk about their feelings. We must be able to support mothers and fathers during times of grief. Sadly, when one loss happens, many individuals are affected. The reason our society suffers from such depression is oftentimes due to living in this culture of death.
